Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly did in fact suffer his second concussion in the past two seasons Thursday night, a source confirmed.

The Panthers had previously only confirmed that Kuechly is in the concussion protocol, which doesn’t always mean a player has suffered a concussion.

Kuechly now is considering traveling to Pittsburgh this week to visit concussion specialist, Dr. Micky Collins, to get a second opinion on the injury and how he should proceed.

It’s hard to imagine that Kuechly will be cleared to play Carolina’s next game on Nov. 27 at Oakland. But Kuechly still is going through the process now as the Panthers deal with multiple concussions this season.

Panthers left tackle Michael Oher has missed the past seven games with a concussion and a source said Oher “isn’t close to a return” at this time.

Also, Panthers special teams ace Colin Jones has missed the past two games with a concussion and linebacker A.J. Klein missed Thursday night’s game with a concussion.
