I’m hoping for a majority mandate conservative government because that gives the leader there, assuming Pierre, the same mandate Trump has. I consider Pierre to be adequate to do the job and good at it. He understands what’s on the table, not just for the American discussion, but I’ve listened to what he’s been saying about tariffs, inter-provincial tariffs. He wants to lift those too. He wants to open up the Canadian economy, diversify who we actually ship our goods and services to. He also understands the economic opportunity. Pierre’s the right guy to negotiate that with Trump’s cabinet.
I’m looking forward to doing anything I can to help that narrative because I’ve certainly spent enough time in Mar-a-Lago taking a lot of abuse for it up in Canada too but I think I’ve done the right thing in keeping the narrative open I’m a proud Canadian but but my family’s American. So I can straddle both sides of the border as an investor and be in the narrative politically. I think that’s important.
