Esther Hicks was one of the narrators of the original version of the film The Secret She was also the central source of the film’s inspiration, which is easy to see if you were to research Abraham Hicks prior to the release of the The secret. The footage featuring Hicks was removed from the later “Extended Edition” after the film’s creator Rhonda Byrne, who has been involved in contractual disputes and litigation regarding the film, rescinded the original contract covering Hicks’ participation.
Abraham Hicks vs the secret
Ester or Abraham Hicks was asked to relinquish her “intellectual property rights in these areas forever”. In an open letter posted on the internet, Hicks stated that she had been “uncomfortable with what felt to us like a rather aggressive marketing campaign,” and that ultimately Abraham gave her the following advice: “Whenever you are given an ultimatum that says, ‘if you don’t do this, then we will have to do such and such,’ it is best that you just let it go and move on. Otherwise there is always another, and this, and this, and this?”
This letter doesn’t condemn Byrne, but clarifies why Hicks no longer appears in The Secret. It also further proves that Abraham Hicks practices what she preaches. This also makes Abraham Hicks supporters question the true meaning of “The secret” which when one does an unbiased side by side comparison can see that Abraham Hicks overs a more in depth approach to the laws of attraction. Also from the standpoint of most listeners when comparing Abraham Hicks to “the secret” the later really does come across like a marketing gimmick or an intro!
Nothing wrong with that but but if you want an in depth understanding of the laws of attraction I highly recommend listening to Abraham Hicks.
