George Foreman vs Mike Tyson Fight – Why It Didn’t Happen
The reason the George Foreman vs Mike Tyson Fight never happened is really simple. The 42-1 underdog James Buster Douglas upset Tyson in Tokyo. I mention 42-1 underdog because Douglas was supposed to be an easy win for Tyson. Had Tyson fought Foreman I think Tyson would have lost.
Reason being George Foreman throughout his career dominated shorter fighters. Tyson in many ways fought similar to Joe Frazier they both moved forward which plays into Foreman’s upper cuts which I think would ultimately Knock Tyson out probably by the 8th or 9th round.
Plus I don’t see Tyson being able to knockout Foreman. Even when Ali Knocked out Foreman it was because Foreman admittedly ran out gas.
