Does PornHub and other Porn Websites Support Rape Culture and Child Pornography?
If you’re unaware, the FREE porn industry as constructed today is heavily reliant on community uploads, and these community uploads often require HUMAN moderation, and for humans to watch every single video is EXPENSIVE. I imagine that PornHub gets millions of uploads every day, and if it adds a universal system to check the content of all videos without automation, this would lead to a bunch of new problems.
Now, do porn watchers like taboo porn? I’d imagine some of them do; you have to remember that WESTERN ideals aren’t the norm in most parts of the world. There are a lot of countries that don’t have the resources to stop sex trafficking; even in China, their standards for sex trafficking differ greatly from the U.S.
Yeonmi Park a North Korean defector, details how she was sold into sex slavery and CHINA was a major player in her experiences. Now, when you apply this to the world of Porn, what do you do? The only option would be to delete the community aspect to PornHub, which I think is inevitable, but if PornHub does this, this won’t stop the market demand for Rape culture porn; if anything, it would decentralize it and make it harder for authorities to track.
A lot of existing porn rings are interrupted because of the major porn websites; nobody wants to talk about that because in the minds of some people, they want to click a switch and have the problem disappear, but based on my research on the topic, I think inevitably, free community porn sites will dissolve into controlled porn sites that offer free porn videos with an option to upgrade.
Why PornHub is resisting this and why I think authorities aren’t aggressively pushing PornHub to do this is because the moment this transition occurs, Rape porn and child pornography will become decentralized again, and people won’t even have the ability to upload those rape porn videos, which will make it even more difficult for authorities to stop these sex trafficking rings.
If we’re to be honest, most of the sex trafficking rings are due to bad economic policies, mostly coming from Western Countries. Maintaining the welfare state in Western countries is leading to undeveloped nations not having a chance to develop. One of the main tools Western nations have been using lately have been economic SANCTIONS on countries don’t that don’t yield to their ever-evolving agenda.
Because undeveloped countries have no infrastructure for a welfare state, these economic sanctions often have devastating impacts, which then FUEL all sorts of nefarious activities.
In closing, I don’t think PornHub is supporting rape culture or child porn I just think that there’s an ongoing debate on how to fix the problem, because in case you’re not paying attention, if this stuff goes underground, potentially even staying off the internet, it could actually make it harder to stop these sex trafficking rings. A lot of the sex trafficking rings aren’t even online.
