I’m a firm believer in access. Many managers think that if they give their numbers out to their employees, the employees might actually call them. The truth is, you WANT to hear from them. What I’ve found is that the more people I give my phone number to, the less it rings.
I always say, “I want you to have this access because I respect you,” and in that trust, I find most people won’t call unless it’s very important.
