[email protected] Phishing Scam

Did you receive an email that said something like “Your account has been limited until we hear from you‏” in the title? If you did it’s a scam
Hi did you get an email that said something like what you see below from [email protected]? If you did it’s important to understand that it is in fact a phishing scam DO NOT click the link contained in that email and if you did scan your computer immediately for viruses. It’s email like this that cause people to have their private information hacked and their banking information stolen. Below is the email I received

We need your help resolving an issue with your account. To give us time to
work together on this, we’ve temporarily limited what you can do with your
account until the issue is resolved.

We understand it may be frustrating not to have full access to your PayPal
account. We want to work with you to get your account back to normal as
quickly as possible.

What’s the problem?

We need a little bit more information about you to help confirm your
identity.

How you can help

It’s usually pretty easy to take care of things like this. Most of the
time, we just need a little more information about your account or latest
transactions.

Go to the Paypal independently to check your Paypal status

What I found the most interesting about this email is the fact that it did not even contain my email address in it. For those of you that don’t know most of these emails originate from China and Russia, many of the hackers there hate our freedoms. So they do things like this to steal from us. Please pass this post to a friend and lets put a stop to this spam once and for all.

 

Last thing make sure you report this email to: spoof@paypal
