Fresno arrest records are basically those records that contain all the arrests made by Fresno police officers of a person, group or entity. Arrest records usually comprise of detailed information about the crime including the names of the suspect, type of crime committed, place and time. These records vary from mild to serious cases, examples of which include minor traffic altercations, DUI, to incidents of robbery and even murder.
To be able to obtain a police report for person crime cases, the person requesting the record must provide for the case number or any other details that would help the researcher. The reports can be released to the public if the case is not restricted or still under the police investigation. If the person requesting the reports is one of the arrested parties, the reports will be given to them during arraignment hearing or to their attorney. Reports are available by mail request or by walk in.
For those who want to search the records themselves, they can do so by visiting the Record Bureau Public Counter during business hours. As there is a cut off time, one should come early and bring a form of identification with them. The costs for the records were amended recently and effective August 1, 2013, each page would cost $.20 and certification fee costs about $25. The fee amendment will not affect civil cases or lawsuits. The Office will not accept cash or personal checks but does accept money order, US bank issued checks and credit card payments.
Mail requests are also accepted. Simply indicate the case number and other information in the request form, as well as payment for the request being made. The report is free however; reports that exceed 10 pages will be charged at $.20 each from the first page onwards. Also, include a duplicate copy of current/valid identification like driver’s license or any government-issued id. For those who want to obtain their own personal criminal records, fee is $30. All payments should be paid through credit card or money order.
